What makes Sun Peaks so great for families?

Sun Peaks is a great place for families to vacation for many reasons. First, the village is pedestrian-only. So, parents can relax knowing that their children can explore safely.

With a world-class ski school, Sun Peaks is perfect for kids and beginner skiers. Offering group and private lessons for skiers as young as 3 years old.

The Little Rascals day care centre offers a safe and fun environment for kids. Ages six months to five years are welcome. Meanwhile, ages 3 and up can take advantage of a Sun Tots ski or snowboard lesson while at the daycare centre.

The Mini Moguls program is perfect for older kids who want to learn how to ski or snowboard. For those days when the parents just want to relax, Sun Peaks also has a babysitting service that can be arranged in advance.

Easy access to the slopes from the village

Sun Peaks ski resort is in the beautiful Thompson Region of British Columbia. It’s just a 45-minute drive from Kamloops or a 2-hr and 45 min drive from Kelowna International Airport. It has a scenic road connection to Whistler Blackcomb, via Duffey’s Lake and Lillooet, we suggest you allow around 4-5 hours in winter  driving conditions.

One of the things that makes Sun Peaks so special is its easy access to the slopes from the village. Whether you’re staying at one of the resort’s hotels or vacation rentals. You are just a short walk or shuttle ride away from the lifts.

And, once you’re on the slopes, you’ll find an extensive network of trails that offer something for everyone.

The village shuttle is free and offers daytime and evening schedules, perfect for when tired little legs have had enough of walking and a day of skiing. The shuttle also allows parents to relax with a glass of wine at dinner, knowing they don’t need to drive anywhere.

A variety of activities available for kids of all ages

When it comes to family-friendly activities, Sun Peaks has something for everyone. For the little ones, there’s the Magic Carpet Ride and the Mini Putt course. Older kids can enjoy a game of disc golf or test their skills on the bungee trampoline.

Kids can burn off some energy at the outdoor skating rink, go tubing down the hill or build a snowman outside their snowbound lodging. For those looking for a more relaxing activity, Sun Peaks also offers horse-drawn sleigh rides, a day spa, and dog sledding for the more adventurous.

When it’s time to warm up, there are plenty of family friendly après ski options with restaurants, and cafes welcoming the entire family. With so many fun activities available, Sun Peaks is the perfect place to create lasting memories with the whole family.
